Hatlepool - Future Jobs Fund

The Government announced a new national initiative the Future Jobs Fund in the April 09 Budget.

Backed by significant funding (£1 billion) the Future Jobs Fund (FJF) will quickly generate jobs particularly for young people and also for those in areas of high unemployment.

 

Features and benefits of the FJF:-

  • 100,000 jobs for young people (who are approaching 12 months on JSA) and 50,000 jobs for others in worklessness 'Hot Spots' (areas of high unemployment) between October 2009 to March 2011.
  • Jobs to last at least 6 months, over 24 hours per week and be paid at least the National Minimum Wage.
  • The jobs must be new / additional jobs and funding must not subsidise existing jobs.
  • The jobs must benefit the individual, include skills development and were possible lead to sustainable employment.
  • The jobs must benefit the local community

 

TNG and FJF

TNG were a main partner in Hartlepool Borough Councils FJF application, which was successful in securing funding to enable 760 young people to access new jobs across the borough. TNG is working with HBC and over 25 other voluntary and public sector partners to begin delivery of FJF from October 2009.
